Position Summary and Responsibilities

As a part of the product development team, you will build exciting new LBS software that will be used by millions of wireless subscribers. You will be responsible for:

• Server-side application design and development
• Integrating and utilizing various types of mobile content
• Working with device-side API and UI developers to great create a great user experience
• Driving agile development processes working with customers and other deCarta staff

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java programming
• Experience with Web frameworks (Wicket, Struts, etc) and Web Services
• Experience with XML parsing and Schema design
• Experience with SQL and ORM frameworks
• Experience with API design
• Exposure to AJAX
• An interest in and knowledge of geospatial applications including the fundamental mathematics and algorithms that can be used to transform and manipulate spatial data, and geospatial or mapping API experience
• Good team player
• BS/MS in Computer Science
• 7+ years experience developing web applications

Senior AJAX Engineer

• Client side Java Script development for both Web and Mobile browser environment
• Working closely with server team to develop client side APIs
• Driving new technology development for greater internet to mobile web convergence.

Qualifications

• Strong JavaScript language fundamentals and experience in JavaScript programming
• Familiar with JavaScript frameworks / API's.
• Object Oriented design skills.
• Extensive knowledge of DOM, HTML, XML & CSS.
• Strong understanding of JSON.
• Strong familiarity with callback based asynchronous programming methodologies
• An interest in and knowledge of geospatial applications including the fundamental mathematics and algorithms that can be used to transform and manipulate GIS spatial data
• Experience with or knowledge of mapping software
• UI design experience a plus
• Good team player
• BS/MS in Computer Science
• 7+ years experience developing web applications

Senior UI Designer

• Working closely with development engineers to set the direction of interfaces, presentation, and APIs
• Delivering an outstanding user experience

Qualifications

• Practical user interface expertise is required for web-based or Mobile application environment
• Extensive HTML, CSS and graphic design experience is required
• Familiar with AJAX user interface design
• Ability to write custom HTML and CSS
• Knowledge of JavaScript is a plus
• Cartography experience is a plus
• Design experience in mobile software is a plus

Senior Mobile Engineer

Qualifications

• Experience developing and commercializing mobile systems and services is essential
• Knowledge of mobile browsers
• Development experience in J2ME and/or Mobile AJAX and/or iPhone Objective C, J2ME expertise required, iPhone, Windows Mobile, and Symbian platform expertise desirable
• Knowledge and experience in mobile operating environment, network protocols, industry standards and protocols relevant to the mobile space
• Handset testing strategies
• UserAgent detection experience
• Deep programming experience on multi-threaded, resource-constrained devices
• Excellent architecture and design skills
• Geospatial or mapping API experience is a plus
• Experience with API design is a plus
• Good team player

Senior Network Administrator

Location: San Jose, California

Position Summary and Responsibilities

Develop and enforce a comprehensive security policy. Build, deploy and support production Linux and Cisco/Juniper based infrastructure. Develop process and informational documentation. Monitor and apply troubleshooting techniques to identify the root cause for hardware and software related issues. Install, configure and support network systems. Must be available for on-call production issues.

Required Skills:

• Software load balancers, such as IPVS/LVS, HAProxy
• Dynamic routing protocols, BGP, OSPF, RIP
• Knowledge and/or experience with these pieces of gear/software:
  • Vyatta
  • Quagga
  • Cisco ASA/PIX
  • Cisco Catalyst 2650/3750 Switches
  • Cisco CSS
  • Juniper EX-Series
• Understanding of layer 1-3 network design, and implementation

• Familiarity with following tools: Syslog, SSH, MySQL, OpenVPN, BASH, Nagios, Wireshark, NFS, Rsync, Firebug
• The ability to lift 50 pounds
• Heavy experience in Linux distributions, including Redhat Linux/CentOS 4.X, and 5.X
• The ability to troubleshoot blackbox situations
