Advanced dispatch features and in-vehicle navigation combine to power MRM systems

San Jose, CA - April 6, 2010 - deCarta, the leading provider of location software and services, today announced the launch of deCarta Fleet™, an integrated suite of products that allows system integrators to develop fleet management services linking advanced fleet dispatch to in-vehicle navigation. System Integrators who build on deCarta Fleet can now bring new services that save fleet operators time and money.

As costs of fleet management continue to rise, operators are looking for new solutions to help track mobile workforces, eliminate waste from excessive travel, improve customer service and reduce operational costs. To achieve this, dispatchers need to be able to accurately access needs and available resources based on current traffic conditions and real-time business needs. Similarly, drivers need to be able to receive instructions on destinations and accurately route to the correct place without lost time. Using deCarta Fleet, System Integrators can bring these linked services to their customers using deCarta’s proven technology.

deCarta Fleet provides the core mapping, routing and geospatial data infrastructure for a fleet management solution. The service consists of two components:

1. deCarta Fleet DDS™: Dispatch services can be built on deCarta’s Drill Down Server® (DDS) with special features specifically for the fleet market. deCarta Fleet DDS can be hosted by a System Integrator and provides full mapping, routing and control functionality for any dispatch service. New advanced features include geofencing APIs, route compliance monitoring and stepwise routing.
2. deCarta Fleet Nav™: In-vehicle navigation software that can be ported to any Windows CE-based or Windows XP-based mobile device. deCarta Fleet Nav communicates with deCarta Fleet DDS through deCarta’s Fleet Connector Specification™ to ensure closed loop communications between dispatch and vehicle, then routes the driver to the next destination in the fastest way possible. New advanced fleet features include speed alerts, route compliance monitoring, server-based geocoding and custom POI uploading.
