Richard Poppen, Vice President, Chief Technology Officer. Rich joined deCarta in 1997 as its first non-founding employee. Rich holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Pomona College and a master's degree in mathematics from Stanford University, and has more than 34 years' experience in the development and analysis of mathematical algorithms, including 15 years in the digital mapping and navigation industries. Rich holds nine patents. He also serves on the board of trustees of The Good Shepherd Fund (www.goodshepherdfund.org).
