deCarta Drill Down Server Solution
Drill Down Server® (DDS) is a geospatial software platform for building location-enabled applications. Unlike web services such as Google Maps or Bing Maps, you host DDS behind your own firewall and retain complete control.
DDS provides hundreds of functions not found in Google Maps or Bing Maps while also providing great speed and scalability. DDS is designed to integrate with your systems at multiple levels including C level APIs, web services, and JavaScript. This allows for highly customized and differentiated solutions that help create customer loyalty and value added services.
DDS is ideal for building Local Search and Social Media websites, real estate portals, travel and concierge services, navigation solutions, fleet-tracking and telematics solutions, and call center/dispatch applications
Why deCarta Drill Down Server Matters for You
-
Routing – Generate routes and complete “turn-by-turn” driving or walking directions. Works in conjunction with deCarta’s optional Traffic Manager plug-in to not only display traffic, but provide detour routes around traffic jams.
-
Vector Maps – Generates vector based data streams in support of advanced map rendering such as 2.5D or 3D map displays.
-
Raster Maps – Creates maps in JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG and SVG formats. Clients have control over size, styles, colors, icons and cartographic presentation of the map.
-
Geocoding – Assigns a latitude/longitude to a specific address; cross street; geographic feature or point of interest (POI).
-
Reverse Geocoding – Takes a location or address and quickly “snaps” it to the location that meets the same description or address in a second data source. Supports services such as correlating vehicle GPS positions on maps in real time, at very high volumes.
-
Proximity Search – Finds the nearest address or geographic object (points, lines, polygons) given a latitude/longitude. Options include search by radius or corridor along a route.
-
Geofencing – Geofencing is supported for circles, rectangles, polygons, and route compliance.
-
Spatial Database Overlay – Provides an efficient means to store, retrieve and display POI and other data from an external database utilizing deCarta’s spatial key technology.
-
Dispatch – Find the closest location to a moving vehicle or find the closest vehicle to a location. Ideal for technician or service vehicle dispatch.
-
Stateless architecture – Any DDS query is treated as an independent transaction and can be distributed to the next available instance of a DDS in multi-instance deployments.
-
Best-of-breed data content – Users can choose from multiple data vendors for different geographies to meet business and technical goals, including navigation quality content for the best possible geocodes, routes, directions, and ETA.
-
Scalability – Proven in high-transaction enterprise environment deployment.
-
High performance – Industry-leading route calculation; map generation and geocoding performance.
-
Internationalization – DDS can provide routes, maps geocodes for global enterprises from one technology platform including China
-
Customizable map appearance – Customers can configure their own map style and incorporate their brand, allowing differentiation.
