deCarta respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information about you we collect, how we use that information, and communications you may receive from deCarta. Please take a few moments to read this agreement.
deCarta may collect information about you when you engage in any of the following activities (the “Activities”): (i) register or use any deCarta service or product, including when you use a mobile device equipped with one of our services and/or products; (ii) use this website; (iii) participate in one of our promotions, such as our annual Calendar Contest; and (iv) request information about our services and/or products from us or from another company through which our services and/or products are offered. By engaging in any of the aforementioned activities, you assent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, and acknowledge and agree that these terms and conditions may change without notice. If you do not accept the foregoing, please do not engage in any of the Activities.
What we collect:
deCarta may collect and/or store information about you (“Personal Information”), such as your name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, billing information (such as credit card information), where your wireless device is located at particular points in time, and route information that you have requested via our services and/or products.
How we use the information we collect:
We use Personal Information that you provide us to identify your account, to contact you with information related to your account and the deCarta products/services that you have used and/or have registered, to contact you with information regarding certain promotions that you may be participating in, for billing purposes, and to provide you with details about our services and products.
Such Personal Information may also be used, generally in an anonymous format, to monitor the status of the communication network and data processing systems, as well as to provide you with the deCarta services you are using and/or to provide functionality to the deCarta products you are using.
We may use your name, city, state, and country of residence as provided in an entry to one of our promotions as news or information and for advertising or promotional purposes, whether or not in connection with your promotion entry.
How we share information:
We will disclose Personal Information as required by law, or if in our judgment it is necessary to protect our company or our users from loss or liability. If we merge with or are acquired by another company, the resulting combined company may use the information you have provided as described in this policy. If we cease operation, your information may be transferred to and used by another company that offers similar or related products or services.
We may provide your name, billing address, and credit card information, along with the amount to be charged, to the bank that processes your credit card for billing purposes.
We will not sell or disclose to unaffiliated third parties, without your consent, your location and/or route information that we may collect during your use of our products and/or services, except as otherwise provided in this policy.
Communications from deCarta:
By engaging in the Activities as listed above, you agree to receive relevant communications from deCarta. If you do not agree to receive such periodic communications from deCarta, then you may not engage in the Activities.
Changes to the Privacy Policy:
We may change this policy from time to time. While we will usually indicate major changes by notice on our site, please check here from time to time to see if there is a revised policy posted.
Security:
We keep the Personal Information you provide on servers that are protected by firewalls and other technological means against intrusion or unauthorized access. They are located in a physically secure facility, and only our employees and agents with a need to know the information are given access. While no amount of security can give a perfect guarantee, you can have a high degree of confidence that the personally identifiable information you give us is protected from unauthorized access and use.
