Content Providers

deCarta has formed extensive technology parternships with the industry's leading data providers. By doing so, deCarta is able to provide our customers with a selection of comprehensive data coverage throughout the world. In addition to traditional map data, customers can integrate aerial imagery, traffic feeds, POIs and their own data.

DDS utilizes Rich Map Format (RMF), deCarta’s patented and highly compact, binary format, optimized for spatial query processing and is a flagship feature of deCarta's technology. Unique to the industry, RMF delivers unmatched mapping performance critical to high-volume applications. The following vendors' standard map databases are available from deCarta:

Traffic
deCarta's Traffic Manager extension manages real-time traffic and incident feeds, providing enhanced routing and more accurate travel times, which can be used for:

• Fleet Tracking Applications
• Wireless Location and Navigation Systems
• Internet - Portal, Real Estate and Travel web sites

Imagery
deCarta and GlobeXplorer have collaborated on a seamless interface between deCarta's Web services API and GlobeXplorer's Image Server within the deCarta AJAX framework. This enables easy generation of "hybrid" maps such as the overlay of road network data on top of satellite imagery.

POIs
Core POI data is supplied by the map data vendors. Category examples include stadiums, historical and cultural landmarks, and museums. Expanded categories, including commercial business listings, are also available from NAVTEQ and Tele Atlas. In addition, you can import custom POI data sets such as your company's store locations.
