Data ProductsIn order to transfer data into RMF, deCarta offers Translation Toolkits - a set of tools used to convert a dataset from its original format into RMF as well as generate all of the appropriate indexes. A toolkit consists of a conversion tool, a compiler, index builders, and scripts for ease of use. RMX Conversion ToolRich Map eXchange Conversion Tools convert data from the source format into deCarta's Rich Map eXchange (RMX) format. RMX is an ASCII sequential file adhering to Uniform Data Model (UDM) specifications. deCarta supports the following formats:
The Rich Map Compiler assembles UDM-conforming RMX data into the spatially organized, binary Rich Map Format. It is a straightforward operation that compiles the data in an amazingly short amount of time. Index Builders From the compiled RMF files, the Index Builders then generate various indices used by the DDS Look-up Plug-in. These indices are used to facilitate locating information for such attributes as city, state, street name, and so on. Processing Scripts Included in the toolkits is a script for processing. The script allows processes to be strung together to create an easier, almost "push-button", solution. Altogether, the translation toolkit offers a flexible solution for tailoring map data to the needs of your application. |
